LONDON', Nov. 26 The National Savings Committee which was appointed in 1916 to en courage saving, and is now supervis ing 35,000 voluntary saving associa tions, protests against the issue o! premium bonds, which, they say, ap peal to cupidity and are detrimenta to steady and persistent saving. The committee points out that savings bank deposits and war savingcertificates total £613,000,000, ol which a considerable portion mighl be transferred to premium bonds, in volving an intolerable burden of administrative work without advantage to the State to which the monej is already lent.
