. • -oOPENING THIS MORNING. FINE DISPLAYS PROMISED. The Auckland Agricultural and Pastoral Association's show will be opened to-day at the Campbell Showgrounds, Epsom, and will be concluded to-morrow. More than ordinary interest attaches to this year's fixture, as it is the first since peace was ach.eved, and also because none was held last year. The entries are good in most sections, exceed.ng those of the 1917 fixture, and the distances from which stock is being &ent and the number of new competitors indicate revived interest in the Auckland exhibition. The cloud of war has vanished, the people are again concentrating upon the important peaceiul pursuits of the land, and there is every reason for supposing that to-day and tomorrow will witness the show restored to its original magnitude and popularity. All the stock sections will be well "represented, and, apart from the competitions, the displays should give the public a good idea of the best blood there is in the country. The horse-jumping contests, which are always a most popular feature, promise to be particularly interesting, famed hunters from as far south as Hastings and as far north as- Whangarei having been entered. Jumping events will take place each day. A splendid horticultural display is promised. This section will be under the control of the 'Auckland Horticultural Society, which has obtained a huge marquee to house the exhibits. For those on amusement bent there will be a large variety of side-shows, and everyone wi 7 l be provided with interesting instruction by the industrial displays. i '
