"NO CAUSE FOR ALARM." HEALTH OFFICIAL'S VISIT. [BY. TELEGRAPH —OWN CORRESPONDENT.) HAMILTON. W«dn< sda. Eight cases of miid influenza were notified in the Hamilton health district. todav. Dr. T. Fletcher Telford, of the Health Department, arrived to-day, and visited a large number of the previous cases notified. He informed a Herald reporter that all the cases were of a very mild type, and he concurred with the report of the local inspector and professional men. He said that as was usual tJ»ere had been a rapid rise in temperature w-ith an early convalescence. He pointed out that since the epidemic of last year the most simple cases had to be notified, and this had the effect of making the number of cases seem, unduly high. With a prospect of a change in the weather there was need for precautions, but Dr. Fletcher emphasised the fact that there wis not the slightest need for alarm. Those affected should seek medical advice, and where this could not be obtained patients should go to bed and follow the Department's instructions, especially with regard to providing free ventilation. Dr. Telford is remaining in Hamilton for a few days, and will visit the 10mainder of the cases notified.
