MANGERE ROAD LOAN.
RATEPAYERS' APPROVAL. PROPOSAL CARRIED AT POLL. The proposal of the Manukau County Council to raise a special loan of £30,000 for the purpose of tarring the main thoroughfares in the Mangere riding was ratified by the ratepayers at a poll on Saturday. Particulars of the voting &re as follows :—

Commenting upon the result of the wli tatevening, Mr. S. W. House, member of the council for the Mangere district said that he considered it extremely gratifying. The tarring of the main road, from Mangere Bridge to railway crossing would be put in hand as soon as the requisite machinery and materials were available. It was hoped to have the work on that portion of the road completed this season. The returns for the poll on the proposal to raise a £9000 loan for the purchase of borough machinery are not yet complete. Those available last evening were as follows: — ■», For. Against.
