DISAPPOINTING RESULTS. DEPARTMENTAL RESISTANCE. Tim**. LONDON. Sept. 17. In connection with the Government campaign of retrenchment, Mr. Lloyd George lias already received Departmental reports which are disappointing, the total savings involved in the redactions of the staffs not reaching £15,000,000 a year. The heads of departments are resisting Treasury pressure and are shielding highly-paid officials. Dismissals on a large scale are expected.
