BOXING.
Sir,— saw an eager and excited crowd of people awaiting the • opening of the Town Hall, on Monday night last, and approached to learn what was on, when I noticed they were all of the stronger, not to say wiser, sex, and were waiting to see a boxing match. I could not imagine such a large number of seemingly respectable men expecting to enjoy such a savage and animal form of entertainment. While men act like animals for enjoyment, one cannot wonder wars are possible. I think the council should refuse to let the hall for such degrading purposes. A. D. Hamilton.
