FRENCH MANDATE IN SYRIA
SUPPORTED BY BRITAIN. A. and N Z. PARIS, Sept. 16. It is understood that the provisional agreement between Air. Lloyd tieijige ami M. Clemeneeau stipulates that French troops shall relieve the British in Upper Syria. Newspapers reiterate that Britain will support the French mandate over Syria.
