STATE-OWNED RAILWAYS.
DEMAND IN AMERICA. A. and N.Z. WASHINGTON, Aug. 7. Witnesses from the Railway Brotherhood giving evidence before the Inter-State Commerce Commission, demanding State ownership of the railways, gave evidence that Wall Street • interests financially plundered the chief railways of the country. The Brotherhood asked for no increases of wages, but demanded a share in railway control.
