THE MISSIONS TO SEAMEN.
The arrival of so many large overseas steamers in Auckland during the last two weeks has resulted in a very busy time for the Flying Angel Mission to Seamen. The missioner, Mr. A. P. Oowie, has arranged a number of entertainments for both officers and men, also football matches for the latter. This afternoon a match will be played at the Domain by the crews of the Mahia and the Port Narrier. The officers and engineers from Home-going vessel were entertained last evening; at a social evening and dance at Mr. Oowie's residence at Northcote, a concert for the crews «tlso being given at the Mission room by Mrs. W. Gray, of Devonnort. A special service and sacred concert will be held in the Mission room to-morrow evening, with an address by Mr. E .G. Parker. 'The attendance of seamen at these services has been very large lately, the room, and even the passage, being crowded, clearly evidencing the need for the extra accommodation which the Mission hopes soon to obtain, " ■ —■—. i
