SHIPPING AT AUCKLAND.

EXCEPTIONALLY* BUSY TIME.

SHORTAGE OF LABOUR. '

Shipping at Auckland continues busy, and as the number of arrivals practically equals the departures the berths at the wharves are kept occupied. Owing to the number of vessels constantly discharging, cargo is being received in the sheds faster than it can be carted away, and this is causing a certain amount of delay in discharging. Waterside labour, which is sufficient for normal times, is inadequate for a busy period like tho present, and some vessels are workinc shortSianded. The Koromiko, which arrived from Lyttelton on Friday night, has, so fax, not started to discharge her cargo of produce. Tho labour available is being used by tho Union Company to work vessels whoso movements arc of moro importance.
