SOLDIERS' CLUB HOUSE.

TRENTHAM BUILDING OPENED.

WELLINGTON, Wednesday.

A Soldiers' Club house, in the hospital ! ground, at Trentham. was opened by the Governor-General* this afternoon. The building was originally constructed for use as a hospital ward from funds subscribed by residents in the Wairarapa, but subsequently was handed over to the Red Cross Society, which has converted it into a comfortable club house. In declaring the club opened, the Earl cf Liverpool congratulated all tho Red Cress workers in New Zealand On the great work they accomplished during the war. He had been told by Brigadier-General Richardson of the work the society had done for New Zealand sold'ers in England, and he applauded the society's noble work.
