! GATHERING AT NAPIER. The annual conference of tho United' District Fire Brigade Association took place in Napier during Easter, delegates being present from all parts of tho North Island. j : The annual report and balance-sheet I showed the association to bo in a flourishI ing position. It was decided to procure a shield to be competed for at demonstrations of the association in memory of all members who had died in the war. The election of officers of the executive for the ensuing term resulted as follows: President, Superintendent S. Reed, Tai-1 Tiape; senior vice-president, Socretarv H. ' Prxo, Hastings; junior vice-president,' Superintendent E. Freeman, Masterton. ; Brigade representatives : Superintendent I I. Pickering, Napier; oaptnin H. Young, Petone; secretary, Deputy-Superintendent Henderson, Hastings; treasurer, Mr. C. i iStubbs, Hastings.
