W.C.T.U. CONVENTION.
J LARGE GATHERING AT NAPIER. [bt telegraph.— association.] NAPIER, Thursday. The annual convention of the Women's Christian Temperance Union opened in Napier this morning. A reception was given on. Wednesday evening, at which tho Mayor welcomed the delegatce, and the Dominion president replied. Eightyfive delegates answered the roll call. The I report of the secretary showed 105 branj ches with 7500 members. The reports of organisers were read and adopted. At the afternoon session Mrs. Don delivered J her annual presidential address. She re- ! viewed the year's work, and spoke .-f the I efforts' by petition to secure the referendum, and of strenuous efforts to carry [ prohibition.
