ACCLIMATISATION AFFAIRS.
I THE OHINEMURI SOCIETY. ! [BY TELEGRAPH.—OWN CORRESPONDENT.] WAIHI, Thursday. The annual meeting of the Ohinemuri, Acclimatisation Society was held last night, Mr. Archibald White, president, in the chair. The report showed that con- ' siderablo quantities of trout fry had been liberated in various streams with, in most instances, satisfactory results. The wet season had resulted in the loss of a con-: siderable number of the young pheasants, which had been liberated. ! Tho election of officers for the ensuing year resulted:—Patron, Mr. G. Hill; president, Mr. W. A. White; vice-presi-dents, Messrs. W. Q. Robbie, P. A. Clifford and P. R. Hubbard; hon. secretary and treasurer, Mr. E. Leach; committee, : Messrs. D. J. Irvine, A. Sparkes, A. Kinn , (Waihi), F. Dare, T. Hutridge, J. Hamilton (Karangahake), W. D. Nicholas, J. L. Hanna, F. Burgess (Paeroa); hon. auditor, Mr. Pickworth. Seventeen new members were elected.
