THE EFFICIENCY BOARD.
COMPLETION OF BUSINESS. SOON RELINQUISHING OFFICE [BT TELEGRAPH.—OWN CORRESPONDENT.] WELLINGTON, Tuesday. The National Efficiency Board is now winding up its business, and will shortly co out of office. In Auckland, Christchurch, Dunedin, and Wellington, the commissioners have either closed their offices entirely or are carrying on with reduced staffs until details are completed. The repatriation work, which was done bv the board's local committees on an entirely voluntary basis, has now devolved upon the local repatriation committees, on many of which there are members of the efficiency trustee boards. One important part of the work of the Efficiency Board was that transacted through these local boards of trustees, in looking after soldiers' businesses imtn the men return. This work must be carried on, and the committees cannot, therefore, be all of them disba-sded in the meantime. The chairman of the board, Mr. W. Ferguson, stated to-day that the board was undertaking no "large new work. It had completed its inquiry on education, and its report would be forwarded to the Government in the course of a few days. It, was also carrying on some inquiry work for the Defence Department.
