" Every endeavour has been made to obtain information from the War Office as to the conditions under which motorlorries and cars can be obtained for New Zealand on demobilisation," states General Richardson, in a letter to Sir Jama Allen, " but the Department concerned will not supply the information. lam informed that this is owing to the fact that the makers of vehicles are arranging for the War Office to return them all vehicles on demobilisation. If this is true, the New Zealand Government will require to purchase its requirements from the trade and not through the War Ofike. Further information regarding this matter will bo supplied later."
