. ♦ RATEPAYERS' ASSOCIATION. {FROM 008 OWN CORRESPONDENT.] At a meeting held at Kaukapakapa the juestion of forming a Ratepayers* Assonation was brought forward. After discussion it was decided to hold the matter n abeyance pending the receipt of further information. , . ~ , ~ The same meeting also considered the idvisability of forming a branch of the ffaitemata Railway League. A committee, amitting of Messrs. Dyo, Downe, and Roller was appointed to get as full particulars as possible, and to report to a tutuie meeting. ...in \A good deal of interest is taken locally in the matter of rating on unimproved values, and at a recent meeting of ratepayers the subject was well debated, both friends and opponents brrging forward strong arguments. It was anally decided to appoint a committee, consisting ol Messrs. Diproso, Cole, Kinloch, Sinclair, and Ballini, to take such steps as may be necessary to obtain a poll on the quesThe last few meetings of the Fanners' Union have been well attended, the union having had new life infused into it, bj the appointment of an organising secretary.
