RECOGNITION OF SERVICES,
CIVIL AND MILITARY AWARDS.

WELLINGTON, Monday The Minister for Defence stated to-day that arrangements were being made by the Imperial authorities for the issue of the Empire Medal, which is to be con' ferred in recognition of very special service rendered to the Empire during the war. There are to be military and civilian divisions for the purpose of this medal which will only be awarded for a notable achievement.
