LATE .CANON ' NELSON. | TRIBUTE BY TEE BISHOP. ' Memorial services to the late ,Rov. Canon ..formerly'vicar of St. Paul's Church for many years, were conducted in tho church yesterday morning and i evening. The church, was suitably draped ! in mourning, aiid at. each service approj priato lessons and prayers wore read. * The morning sen-ice was conducted by I the Rev. R. V. Wilson, administrator of ' the Diocese of Melanesia, who made' reference to the late canon.. .< <. , In the evening Dr. A. W. Averill, Bishop of Auckland, addressed ft. large i congregation upon Canon Nelson'slifo and his work in tho ecclesiastical circles of i Auckland. The late canon had' lived' a Very real life, said His Lordship, and i had devoted his, entire talents and I scholarship, to the religions and tho secular education of the people. For thirty- ' eight'years he had lived in tho hearts of hid people, and the beautiful St. Paul's I Church building was a fitting monument {to his zealous work. Bishop Averill referred also to the life and work of tho late Archdeacon R. B. !
