FUND FOR SCHOLARSHIPS. RELIGIOUS BODIES BENEFIT. [V v a'EI/EGRAI'II.—PRESS ASBOUATION.] CHRISTCHURCH, Friday. Under the will of the late Mr. John Connal a bequest of £1600 is left to tho Board of Governors of Canterbury College to provide two scholarships of tho value of £20 each, tenable for two years, to be awarded in connection with such of the following subjects as the board may determine:—English, Latin, French, Mathematics, and History. The bequest will be augmented by £1000, on the death of a beneficiary. The sum of £1000 has been left to the Y.M.O.A. (Christchurch), which will also benefit to the extent of a further £1000 on the death of a beneficiary. St. Andrew's College, Chmtchurch, benefits to he same extent as, the Y.M.C.A.. while the Salvation Army of New Zealand receives £1000, and the Sailors' Institute, Lyttelton, .£2OO. Several Presbyterian clergymen benefit under the will.
