THRONE OF AFGHANISTAN.
LATE AMIR'S BROTHER. A. and N.Z. LONDON, Feb. 25. It is reported that the throne of Afghanistan has been seized by the brother of the late Amir, Xasruilah Khan, who is a notorious Anglophobe. It transpires the Amir was encamped at Laghan, when two men evaded his guards and penetrated his tent. They shot him with a revolver and also stabbed him. The assassins escaped.
