THE POLICE FORCE.
NO SEPARATE ASSOCIATION.
By an overwhelming majority the members of the police force have decided to remain attached to the Public Service Association, remarks the association's journal. The exact voting was:—Against any association, 35; for a Police Association, 87; for the Public Service Association, 697. "We regard it as a source of extreme satisfaction that our police members have thus shown their confidence in the organisation and management of the Public Service Association, and we can but express the hope that they find their decision fully merited by the results attained. The executive officers are at present engaged in the matter of a complete understanding with the Minister in chaTge of the methods to bo adopted in regard to the presentation of police questions, and full particulars will be announced shortly. In the meantime the Minister has given an undertaking that any police regulation, which is at variance with the decision of the police and with the powers that membership of the association gives them, will be amended."
