PURCHASE OF CORN SACKS.

[nr TELEGRAm. — association-] CHRISTCHURCH. Saturday. It has been decided to abandon the Government scheme for the purchase and control of corn sacks during the 1919-1920 season. This decision was come to by the Board of Trade, following a conference with -the Canterbury arid Southern committers. The chairman of the board, in making this announcement, states that it has been found that conditions on the Calcutta market, owing to the approach o:' peace, are now too uncertain for anything to be done for next season. This decision, however, did not affect the prices for the present season
