Captain W. Watson left for the South last evening. Major W. Glenn, of Wanganui, is at the Star Hotel. Mr. G. Wilkinson, of Sydney, is <\t the Star Hotel. Mr. J. B. Averill, ■ Anglican Bishop of Auckland, returned from New Pi,-, mouth yesterday afternoon, in order to render afsistance to the various organic tions which are engaged in fighting the influenza epidemic. Dr. Averill has postponed his engagements in Taranaki for the present.
