FIRM AND MAN PROSECUTED. [BY TELEGRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION.] DUNEDIN, Wednesday. A young German named Eugene Seigle was proceeded against in the Police Court to-day on a charge'that, being an unlicensed alien, he obtained work on a certain steamer. His employers, Stevenson and Cook, were charged with permitting Seigle to work on the steamer. Seigle, who pleaded guilty, said that it was m order to get work that he told tho firm he was a Swiss Counsel {or Stevenson and took said that when asked for his papers Seigle said he would bring them the following day, but did not do so. saying* that the ..police had them. The maimer then rang up the police. Seigle was sen. tenced to three months' imprisonment, and Stevenson and Cook were fined £18 and costs.
