MATTHEWS.-On August 28, 1918, reported killed in action in France, Corporal Edward Newton Matthews, First Battalion, 16th Waikato, A.1.R., eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. >ewton Matthews, of 18, Benson Road Remuera, Auckland, at the age of 224 years! WILSON.— On August 26, killed in action MUiowhere in France. Alfred James, dearly beioved brother of S. and J. Haywood, Owhango; aeed 35 years. His duty nobly done.
