MOTHER'S FRENZIED CRIME.
ATTACK MADE ON TWO SONS.

(Reed. 5.5 p.m.) SYDNEY, Sept. 8. A shocking tragedy occurred at Manly yesterday. A Mm. Lynch attacked liar two sons, aged seven and 21 years, and split their heads with an axe, and then took poison. All three were admitted to hospital, where the youngest boy succumbed to his injuries.
BUTTER POOL TO BE FORMED. (Reed. 5.5 p.m.) MELBOURNE. Sept. 8. The export of millet and honey has been prohibited. The Federal Ministry proposes to create a butter pool to control the anticipated sale of this season's butter to the British Government. DEATH OP A SCIENTIST. SYDNEY, Sept. 7. The death occurred to-day of Dr. MeCarvie Smith, the well-known scientist, who recently presented the secret of his anthrax cure to the State, a gift estimated at the value of £10,000. NEED FOR ECONOMY. ADELAIDE, Sept. 7. In the legislative Assembly the Treasurer, in Jlis Budget speech, estimated the surplus at £4029. He urged that economy generally must be practised.
