VALIDATION OF SALE .OPPOSED.

CHRISTCHURm. Sunday. A meeting of the Canterbury shareholders of the Dominion Portland Cement Co., Ltd., in liquidation, was held yesterday. The proceedings were not open to the press, but the following report was supplied:— " After a statement relative to the proceedings in the Supremo Court at Auckland bad been made by a solicitor representing the Canterbury shareholders in tho company, it was decided to take al! the steps necessary to oppose the validation of the sale of the company's assets. It was further resolved to consult all the Canterbury shareholders by circular on ■matters in respect to further steps to be taken consequent on the recent judgment of the Supreme Court."
