PATRIOTIC CARNIVALS.
The Queen Carnival, held at Mangere, on Saturday, in aid of the Red Cross, was a great success. The effort took the form of a bazaar, which was opened in the Public Hall, by Sir F. W. Lang, M.P. Throughout the day Aere was & crowded attendance, and the organisers are quite satisfied with the financial results. The various stallholders were kept busy, one reporting that she had received £100" The Onehunga Band was present. . A successful carnival was also held at Papatoctoe in aid of the Red Cross. The proceedings were <pcned by Sir F. W. Lang in the presence of ft large attendance. Although the total receipts are not yet known, it is understood that they are entirely satisfactory.
