OBITUARY.
MR. L. S. DACRE.
Ma. Life Septimus Dacre, who died on Sunday in a private hospital in Auckland, was the seventh son of the late Captain Dacre, one of the earliest pioneers of New Zealand. Born in Sydney in 1850, ha came to Auckland with his father in 1853 He was educated in this city, and took up farming pursuits in the Kaipara district. With the exception of two years in England and 12 months at the Islands, Mr. Dacre lived all hia life in the Auckland district. Latterly ho was engaged in farming at Oknra, in the Wade district. He was keenly interested in athletic sports, and represer'ed the Auckland Province in football and running. He was also an enthusiastic oarsman, and was a member of the Auckland Rowing Club for many years, and was one of a representative crew that was never beaten. The burial took place yesterday at O'Neill's Point Cemetery. Only two sons of tho late Captain Dacro are now living, Mr. James Dacrp, residing a'; Mount Eden, and Mr. Randolph Dacre, aj Okura.
