PRODUCTION OF GOLD.
INCREASE IN THE COST. Router. LONDON, July 4, An important representative meeting of Empire gold producers was held in London to-day. Baron Harris, who presided, related the efforts made during the last six months, without result, to induce the British Government to consider the increased cost of producing gold. A committee, composed of Baron Harris, Sir Lionel Phillips, Sir Newton Moore, Mr. Edgar Taylor, Mr. P. 0. Malcolm, and Mr. Herbert Blythe was appointed to prepare a case for presentation to the Government.
