SUBURBAN TRAM SERVICE.
DEMAND FOR IMPROVEMENT,
{The complaints concerning the suburban jramwav services which were discussed at special meeting of representatives of the Mount RoskiO and One-tree Hill Road boards some weeks ago, were referred to fet the meeting of the One-tree Hill Road lloard last night, when a letter from Mr. 0. J. Walklate, manager of the Auckland Electric Tramways Company, in reply ta was read. The letter jtated that the tramway services had recently been carefully examined and improved, particularly at the rush hour at live o'clock, and the writer trusted that (the additional cars which had been put fcn would have the effect of removing the lause of the complaints referred to. The board decided that, in view of the fact that the services to the outlying Suburbs have not been at all adequately Improved, the matter should not be Allowed to rest, and the chairman was path oris ed to endeavour to arrange a toeeting of the Mayors of Newmarket, flount Eden and Onehunga and the chairpan of the Mount Roskill Road Board, for I'ne purpose of approaching the City CounEil with a request that a united effort e made to bring the tramway service up r> the required standard.
