A wifeless German official report says:— We repulsed, with heaviest losses, French counter-attacks south-west of Noyon, and threw the enemy hack on the whole front from Le Ployron to Autheui!. We cleared the enemy from the west bank of the Oise northward of its junction with the M.itz. Our prisoners r.ov; number I.SOGO. rite enemy evacuated Clarepont tVood. We, pursuing him, reached a . line running northward of Badly through Tracey le Val to westward of Nampcel. By hard fighting on Tuesday von Hutin repulsed the expected counter-attack for the recapture of the group of hills southwest of Noyon. which was carried out in strength by several French divisions. Armoured cars were brought up in great numbers, and shot to pieces on the battle field. Our counter-attack shattered an enemy assault between Men - and Belloy. Bitte>- fighting continued until nightfall, we pursuing the enemy beyond Clarepont and CaiVnes. The enemy, regardless of sacrifices, kept tip attacks north -west of Chateau Thierry, but they broke down with great loss.
