RIVER RUNNING BANK - HIGH.
[BY TELEGRAPH. OWN CORRESPONDENT.]
TAEROA. Thursday.
Following the heavy wind which prevailed on Tuesday night a>nd the heavy rain, all the rivers and creeks in the district are in heavy flood. At noon to-day the Ohinemuri River had risen several feet, and in most places was bank-high. The flood-water was level with the railway bridge at Paeroa, practically rendering railway traffic unsafe. Many places ojn the Paeroa-Waihi road, where creeks cross, were flooded. The low - lying country is submerged, but the township is protected by -banks. The water is now subsiding.
