CLAUSE ADDED TO BILL. Lm rELEußArn.—rnEfs \ssociation.J WELLINGTON', Sunday. The Legislative Council met again at 10.30 p.m. on Saturday evening, and passed the Expiring Laws Continuance Bill through all stages. Tho Finance Bill was introduced and I passed its second reading, after protest , : by the Hons. J. Barr (Canterbury) and J. T. Paul (Otago) against an important i Bill with amendments being rushed through at short notice. In Committee. Sir Francis Bell moved to insert the national service clause, withdrawn in the Lower House. The Hon. J. T. Paul protested strongly against the Government's methods in matters affecting Labour, and said that Labour should bo consulted, as the primary producers were. The clause was added to the Bill, which , passed its Committee stage. 11 The Council adjourned at 12.10 a.m. ,i until 10 a.m. on Monday. ,1 ' -
