MR. ROOWELL'S CAREER. [FROM OWI OWN CORRESPONDENT.] LONDON, Mnr. 5. The new Governor of Fiji, who will also bo High Commissioner for the Western Pacific, Mr. Cecil Hunter Rod well, C.M.G., is at present Imperial Secretary to the High Commissioner for South Africa. Mr. Rodwell was born in 1874. He is the eldest son of Mr.. W. H. Rodwell, of Woodlands, Suffolk, and wan educated at Eton and King's College, Cambridge, where he took his 8.A., and in the South African War he served with tho Suffolk Ycomanty and was awarded the Queen's Medal and two clasp?. It was in 1900 that he joined the staff of the High Commissioner for South Africa, and four years later he became Imperial Secretary. Mr. Rodwell married, in 1008, a daughter of Mr. Herbert Ralland. and has a family of two sons and one daughter. ■
