DEPARTMENTAL CHANGES.
DR. VALINTINE TRANSFERRED. [NT TELEGRAPn.—PRESS ASSOCIATION] WELLINGTON. Friday. Arising out of the change of control of the medical treatment of sick and wounded soldiers from the Public Health Department to the Defence Department, Dr. T. H. A. Valintine has been transferred to the Defence Department. His appointment as Inspector-General of Hospitals and Chief Health Officer has been conferred on Dr. J. P. Frengley, who will hold that position during indefinite leave granted to Dr. Valintine. Referring to the chango, the Minister for Public Health stated that it was proposed to reorganise his Department on modem lines. The medical officers would, as far as possible, confine their attention to the professional side of the work, and tho chief sanitary inspectors would be given a larger share of responsibility in regard to non-profes-sional work.
