SUCCESSFUL RAID ON LUXEMBURG STATION. Australian and N.Z. and Reutcr. (Reed. 8.15 p.m. LONDON. April 11-11.10 p.m.
Reporting on the work of the Air Force, Sir Douglas Haig states : In spite of unfavourable weather yesterday, our airmen attacked enemy troops with bombs and machine-gun fire. The mist compelled our pilots to fly at an average height of 200 ft. experiencing very heavy gunfire. The enemy airmen were also active. We brought clown seven and drove down one enemy aeroplane. Seven of ours are missing. We raided the Luxemburg station at mid-day to-day, and dropped over a ton of bombs. Several bursts were observed. ATI our machines returned in spite of considerable gunfire.
