73 PER CENT. OF IRON AND 89 PER CENT. OF COAL LOST 300,000 SQUARE MILES AND 56,000,000 PEOPLE GONE. Router. (Received 7.15 p.m.) PETROGRAD, April 11. A report by the Commissariat Committee, summarises what Russia loses as the result of the Brest Litovsk Treaty. The losses include 300,000 square miles of territory, 56,000,000 inhabitants, or 32 per cent, of the total population, one-third of the railways, 73 per cent, of the total production of iron, 89 per cent, of the total production of coal, many hundreds of factories, breweries, distilleries, and chemical works. The territories henceforth to be under German rule contained 1800 savings banks.
