DISCOVERIES IN ARCTIC.
« STEFANSSON EXPEDITION. A. anil N.Z. OTTAWA. Jan. 15. The Arctic explorer, Vilhjalmur Stefansson, discovered several largo Arctic islands to tho north-west of Banksland, and took possession of them in the name of Canada. Stefansson intends to remain an additional year in the Arctic in order to explore new lands from his base at Wrangell Island.
