APOLOGY TO THE PREMIER.
ACTION BY LLOYD GEORGE (Received 5.5 p.m.) Router. LONDON, Oct. 16. Actions brought by tho Premier, Mr. Lloyd Georgo, in the High Court, against the Exchange Telegraph Company, the Westminster Gazette and the Star, have been settled, the defendants apologising and paying costs. The case arose out of the publication of a paragraph issued by tho Exchange Company, alleging that Mr. Lloyd George left Downing Street for> the country when it as known that air raiders wero approaching London. The plaintiff contended that this implied personal cowardice. Ho explained that he left London with tho military and naval leaders to attend a, conference with the French war chiefs. All the defendants disclaimed that any imputation was intended.
