Sir Douglas Haig reports: Our patrols have been active, and have brought in a few prisoners. There has been considerable reciprocal artillery work. The clearer weather has made possible much effective counter-battery work. South Midland troops raided the trenchos last night in the neighbourhood of Roeux, east of Arras, «\nd inflictod casualties. Another raid north of Lens yielded us a few prisoners. Our fir*, earlv lis morning repulsed a strong raidhig party southwest of Acheville. Our aeroplanes yesterday attacked parti os of infantry with machine-guns at a low altitude, and dropped two tons of bombs on a largo dump at Courtrai, and on other targets. We brougnt down five machines. Three of ours are missing. An earlier report stated: Irish troops made a successful raid northwest of Bullecourt. Considerable hostile artillery fire developed during the night in the neighbourhood of the Ypres-Staden railway.
