POINT CHEVALIER CARNIVAL

A cabnival is to. be held in the Point Chevalier Reserve on Monday next. A large number of attractions are being pre-

pared, including exhibitions of vehicles, maypole dances, sports for boys and girls and for adults. A feature will V. the ceremony 01 crowning the local Rose Queen, to be performed by the Hon. G. Powlds. There was very keen competition for this \ event, the Rose Queen, Miss 'Baker, having received 1532 votes. In all over 6000 votes were recorded, yielding the sua of £76, which will be 'spent in improvements to the district. The following ladies received strong support, and will provide the queen with a bevy cf maids of honour:—Misses Mack, Scott, Walker, Dyson, Managhan, and M. Harris. ThejPoint Chevalier Motor-'bus Company's 'tuses will be run to the reserve at frequent intervals. •
