IMPORTS INTO BRITAIN.
LEATHER AND CHEESE. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Red. 5.5 p.m.) LONDON, Oct. 13. A Gazette notice announces that the Army Council is taking over nil imported leather. The Food Controller is releasing the whole of the trade's requirements of cheese for October. The bulk will be Canadian, with but little Australian or New Zealand. CHRISTMAS FRUITS TAKEN. (Eeceired 11 p.m.) A. ana N.Z.-Reuter. LONDON, Oct. 14. The Press Bureau announces that the Minister in Charge of Food Control, Lord Ehondda, will take over all currants and sultanas now afloat for Britain at a price to be determined later. *
