SOCIAL HYGIENE BILL

WELLINGTON, Saturday. A deputation representing women's societies waited on the Hon. G. W. Russell, Minister for Public Health, to-day to present' resolutions' passed at meetings of women, protesting against the provisions of the Social Hygiene Bill and against the passing of the measure this session.

The Minister, in reply, said he intended to get the Bill on to the Statute Book this session. Ho was willing to alter the term "prison hospitals" in the Bill to "detention hospitals." He said he proposed to establish two hospitala in each island, one for men and one for women in each case, and would also give an opportunity for inmates to do work while undergoing detention.
