LOSSES OF COLONIALS.
ANOTHER GERMAN CANARD NO OOMPLAINTS MADE. (Received 11.30 p.m.). United Service. , LONDON, Oct. 7. The German General Staff has issued a communique attempting to allay German uneasiness by stating that there is a move* ment in Britain against the bloodiness of Sir Douglas Haig's war methods, the result of a protest from Australia and New Zealand against the heavy losses of the Anzacs in recent fighting. The communique adds that a mitigation of the severity of the Flanders warfare is, therefore, to be expected. To this the reply is that no such movement exists, and the Anzac losses are not disproportionate. Such complaints do not exist.
