POPE'S PEACE NOTE.
PREMATURE PUBLICITY.
VATICAN PLAN MISCARRIES.
Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. CRocd. 8.30 p.m.) LONDON. August IS.
The Rome correspondent of the Daily Telegraph states that the Vatican is annoyed at the premature publicity given to the Pope's peace Note. It was intended to issue it without any previous announcement, thus avoiding adverse comment. ITie Nuncios in every belligerent country have been making secret inquiries for months regarding the attitude of belligerents, and their investigations have attracted attention, causing the Vatican repeatedly to deny rumours regarding the issue of a peace manifesto.
