Die Zukunft, the journal of Herr Maximilian Harden, the noted German publicist, has reappeared. In its first issue the journal advocates the surrender of Alsace, and also of Trieste, if thereby a durable peace is obtainable.
Herr Harden's brilliant and decidedly outspoken journal was suppressed in October, 1916, and again on July 6, 1917. His characteristic articles freely attack the Government's policy. In one article he eulogised Mr. Wilson and in another appealed for democracy in Germany.
MEATLESS WEEKS.

The Berlin newspaper Vossische Zeitung announces that there will be two meatless weeks per month in Germany, commencing next month.
STRIKES IN BOHEMIA.
DEMAND FOR MORE FOOD.
AMSTERDAM, August 15.
Reports from Prague state that 90 per cent, of munition makers and 60 per cent, of other Bohemian workers have struck during the past fortnight as a protest against the shortage of food. The leaders have been arrested, including 75 women.

Austrian shipping companies have notified their captains to prepare to resume 'heir duties during the winter.
