GENERAL STRIKE IN SPAIN.
REVOLUTIONARY MOVEMENT
FIGHTING IN MADRID. Eouter - MADRID. August 11. The strike in Spain has assumed the character of a general movement, with a revolutionary tendency. The calling up of reservists has been authorised in order to prepare for emergencies. Disturbances are reported at various points. Later telegrams from Spam indicate that many were wounded in collisions between the strikers and soldiers at Madrid.
(Reed. 9.30 p.m.) LONDON. August 14. j The streets of Madrid are thronged with [ strikers and conflicts with soldiers have . taken place in the principal thoroughfares. (Calm has been restored in Barcelona. , There has been much trouble and numerous arrests have been made in Saragossa.
