AN OPEN DECLARATION.
Australia , and N.Z. Cable Association (Received 9.30 p.m.) SYDNEY, July 24 The Trades Hall Council has passed a resolution requesting unions to conduct demonstrations in opposition to what it terms the "Present system of economic conscription." The central executive of the .Political Labour League has been asked to direct that no Labour representatives in the Federal or State Parliaments shall take the platform to encouTage recruiting.
DANGEROUS SHAVING BRUSHES.
INFECTION WITH ANTHRAX.
SYDNEY, July 24. Following the discovery that shaving brushes imported from Japan were infected with anthrax, the imoortation of shaving brushes from Asiatic countries has been prohibited, unless accompanied by a certificate of a responsible health officer.
